Two taken to hospital as crash shut road

The crash involved a single car

Two people were taken to hospital following a crash that closed a road in Bridgend county. South Wales Police said the one-car collision happened at 1.40pm on Sunday in Pisgah Street, Pyle.

At 2.47pm the force said in a statement: “The road is currently closed in both directions between the leisure centre and Waun Bant Road. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.”

In an update at 4.08pm, South Wales Police confirmed the road had been reopened. Its spokesman told WalesOnline: “Two people have been taken to Royal Glamorgan Hospital as a precautionary measure.”
