Vale 50plus BME meeting

by 2aik4

Vale50 Forum’s endeavor to engage members of the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) community from Barry in their inaugural public meeting was met with success! It’s encouraging to note their proactive approach in embracing diverse voices and perspectives, particularly regarding discussions on critical issues like housing, transport, health, and climate change.

The presence of Tom, the Finance Director, and Julie Aviet, the Lord Mayor of Vale of Glamorgan, at the meeting underscores significant support and interest from local leadership. Ann Marie Little, the Chair of Vale50 Forum, taking charge of the meeting is commendable, and it’s heartening to learn that despite her busy schedule, she managed to find time for a head massage!

Providing refreshments such as hot bhajias, Hot Coffee, Welsh cakes, and biscuits added a warm and inviting atmosphere to the event. It’s these thoughtful gestures that make attendees feel valued and at ease, fostering an environment conducive to sharing concerns and opinions.

Sustaining the hosting of inclusive meetings and actively listening to the concerns of the BME community will undoubtedly pave the way for more informed and effective discussions and decisions within the Vale50 Forum.
