Walk from Billericay to Barry for mental health charity

by David Jones

Daniel White, chairman of Lichfield Round Table, began the week-long journey on August 16 from Billericay to Barry Island, raising more than £5,000 so far for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

Mr White originally joined the Round Table in Barry, and the walk holds personal significance as it ends where his journey with the group began.

He said: “One of the most incredible things about Round Table is that wherever you go, you’re rarely far from a Tabler.

“We have clubs all over the world, but it still feels like one huge group of mates.

“Billericay Round Table saw me through my first 10 miles, and members of Barry Round Table – where my own Round Table journey began – will be there to see me home.

“That’s what Round Table means to me.

“You don’t have to face things alone – and that fits perfectly with why I’m doing this for CALM.”

Members of Barry Round Table are expected to join him at the finish line.
