Whocult, located inside the Goodsheds in Barry, has quickly become one of the town’s most popular foodie destinations.
The shop is known not only for its eye-catching sweet treats but also for its origins in streetwear and a reputation for quality.

- A sweet side hustle turned sensation
Whocult began life as Whoclo, an independent Welsh clothing label founded in 2010.
In 2019, founder Scott Magill launched Whocult as a side project, offering coffee alongside clothing from a warehouse.
The name Whocult is a nod to the brand’s “cult” following, a community that has since grown far beyond streetwear.
- Handmade doughnuts, every day
Each doughnut is made fresh daily by Whocult’s team of “donut wizards” at their Bridgend bakery.
Nothing is frozen and nothing is outsourced.
Every doughnut is hand-cut, decorated, and delivered to stores each morning, including the one in Barry.
- Part of a creative hub
Whocult in Barry is located inside the Goodsheds on Hood Road, a development made from repurposed shipping containers and now a popular destination for food, retail, and culture.
The Barry store is open Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 6pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 9pm, and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
- More than just doughnuts
While their doughnuts are the main attraction – bold, generously filled, and flavourful – Whocult also serves coffee, matcha, freakshakes, milkshakes, and other sweet snacks.
Vegan customers aren’t left out either, with plant-based doughnuts, brownies, and alternative milk options available.
The shop also features a rotating “donut of the week,” with past specials including the Cinnamon Crunch puddle doughnut.

From its origins in a Bridgend warehouse, Whocult has grown to seven locations across South Wales.
There are shops in Bridgend, Porthcawl, Cardiff city centre, Barry, Newport, Swansea, and a new site at Cardiff Bay’s Red Dragon Centre.
Whocult also offers nationwide delivery through their Postal Donuts service.
Fans from across the UK, including London, can order boxes of their favourite treats directly to their door.
