Franky Dymott, 50, of Main Street, Barry, admitted two offences of breaching the restraining order that prevented him from contacting a woman.
Cardiff Magistrates’ Court heard the defendant was made the subject of the order on March 2.
Despite this, he breached it on two consecutive days on May 4 when he contacted the victim via messages and phone calls on May 5 when he went to her Cardiff home.
The offences were aggravated by the facts that they were committed while he was subject to a suspended sentence order and under a community order.
Dymott was described as having a “flagrant disregard for court orders”.
He was sent to prison for 29 weeks.
