Lidl unveils ingenious new football shirt for the World Cup

by David Jones

It’s not clear when it happened, but when a goal is scored in the UK, a pint or two gains the ability of flight.

When the World Cup starts next week, you can bet there will be a few plastic cups flying past your head if you’re in a fan zone.

If it’s happening in a pub, then I’d advise you to leave.

Despite the matches being shown late for viewers on our side of the pond, there will be plenty of events on that make sure you don’t miss a throw-in.

Now, Lidl has the answer to the age-old question, how do I not come stinking of beer? A beer-proof shirt no less.

The Three Lidls Jersey:

The Three Lidls Jersey is launching just in time for a summer of football and promises to keep fans fresh throughout matchday.

Developed with football content creator Andy Milne, known as That World Cup Guy, the shirt features POUR-TEX technology, making it 100% liquid- and odour-resistant.

The shirt will be available for £19.66 from 10am on Thursday, June 11, at www.threelidlsjersey.co.uk.
