Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern held its annual meeting with guest speaker Christine Boston, chief executive of Glamorgan Voluntary Services, who spoke about the value of volunteering and the challenges facing the sector.
DPVC provides transport and wellbeing services to elderly residents and people with disabilities, with volunteers helping to run a community club and other schemes.
The organisation also offers minibus and ambulance transport, used by groups such as the RVS and the Wednesday Afternoon Club, and helps residents reach the Medical Centre.
Following the meeting, John Fanshaw was elected as chair, with Chris Franks as vice chair and Chris Bee as treasurer.
Other committee members include Wendy Bourton, Rob Crawley, Brian West, Keith Hatton, Alison Johns, and Colin Turner.
DPVC publishes a newsletter, Depend, twice a year.
