The incident took place outside the Far East Chinese Takeaway on Broad Street, Barry, during the early hours of Sunday, July 26.
The exact time of the disturbance remains unclear, but footage appearing to show the incident was posted on Facebook at around 3am.
Clips shared online appear to show a large crowd gathered outside the takeaway, with people spilling out into the street as the disturbance unfolded.
Some members of the crowd can be seen standing on parked cars while watching the incident, as several shirtless men appear to become involved in the fight.
The footage appears to show people being knocked to the ground during the altercation, with some individuals appearing to kick others as the disturbance continued.
Others can be seen gathered around the scene as the fight moved around the street, with the incident attracting a significant crowd in the early hours.
South Wales Police said officers were called to Broad Street at around 1.30am following reports of an ongoing disturbance.
A spokesperson for the force said:
“Officers were called to Broad Street, Barry, following a report of an ongoing disturbance at around 1.30am yesterday (Sunday July 26).
“Upon attendance, the group involved had left the area.
“Officers remained in the area as reassurance and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
“Any witnesses, or anyone with information is asked to get in touch by reporting online or calling 101 quoting reference 2600240678.”
The footage has sparked a strong reaction online, with residents commenting on the scenes and the damage reportedly caused during the incident.
