1st Penarth Scout Group wrapped up their term with a beach barbecue cook-out, featuring a visit from Matty, pitmaster at Matty’s BBQ Chop Shop.
He served up smash burgers, hot dogs, and vegetables, while the Scouts, not to be outdone, prepared s’mores on their own fire bowls.
The event also followed a recent tour of Matty’s restaurant by the group.
Scout leader Richard Dixon said: “It was the perfect way to end the term.
“The Scouts loved their tour of Matty’s restaurant a few weeks ago, so for him to rock up at our cook-out and show us how it’s done was a real treat.”
Warm summer weather provided a stunning backdrop and a sunset over the Bristol Channel rounded off the evening.
