Newport boy had image of corpse being interfered with, court told

The boy was allegedly caught with indecent images of children and extreme illicit material

A Newport teenager has been charged with six offences over images allegedly found in his possession. One involved “sexual interference with a corpse”, it is alleged.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, attended a Newport Magistrates’ Court hearing on Friday and is due to appear again next week. He is charged with two counts of possessing an indecent image of a child and one of possessing a prohibited image of a child.

The boy is also accused of possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying sexual interference with a corpse “in an explicit and realistic way”.

Another charge alleges possession of an extreme image of an act likely to cause “serious injury” to a person’s private parts.

The final charge relates to the alleged possession of an extreme image portraying non-consensual sexual penetration.

The allegations date back to when the boy was 15. He is expected to enter pleas next week.
