Penarth pier to turn red with poppies during Remembrance

Thousands of knitted and crocheted poppies will be displayed along the railings of Penarth, during the Remembrance period. 

The community project is supported by the Needles, Knit and Natter group and All Saints Church in partnership with the Royal British Legion.

Poppy packs cost £1 and include wool, buttons, and a pattern – though needles are not provided.

Completed poppies can be returned to collection points in Penarth.

Residents who don’t knit can sponsor a poppy for £1 and a volunteer will make one on their behalf.
