Thriller queen Adele Parks drops another bestseller-to-be on us

You’d be forgiven for thinking every plot consideration had been covered within the psychological thriller genre, but Adele Parks returns with yet another new angle in Eyes On You.

Amy is living a secluded life in London, working in a restaurant when she notices Oliver who is dining with a group of friends. The attraction is mutual but while Amy believes she’s entered a relationship, Oliver keeps her at arm’s length. After experiencing a traumatic event in the past, sending her father to prison as the main witness to a brutal murder, this relationship feels like a fresh start. Despite the seemingly positive exterior, there is a darkness beneath the surface that threatens to reveal itself as the plot develops.

A dark and obsessive tale featuring extremely complex characters, each one that’s introduced appears to be masquerading under false pretences. The dual past and present timelines keep the momentum and provide a subtle amount of clues and historic background without revealing too much. 

There were moments I believed I had guessed the outcome only to be thwarted at each turn. A superbly plotted and addictive psychological thriller that’s full of suspense and will delight recurring Adele Parks readers from this master of the genre.
