Held at Pencoedtre Fields, the event offered a packed schedule of free family activities.
The day featured arts and crafts, games, reptiles, yoga, and wellbeing sessions, with attendees invited to play, learn, and make memories together.
Councillor Eddie Williams, Vale of Glamorgan council cabinet member for social care, said: “It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying the Flying Start Family Fun Day.
“The turnout of around 1,300 people demonstrates just how important these opportunities are for families to come together, have fun and discover the support available to them.”
The event also showcased the support available through Flying Start and its partner organisations, helping families access information, advice and early years services.
Cllr Williams said: “The Family Fun Day forms part of Flying Start’s ongoing commitment to giving children the best possible start in life and supporting families within the community.”
The success of the event highlights the ongoing impact of the programme in supporting children and families, and in building stronger community connections.
