Bwyd Blasus, meaning “Tasty Food” in Welsh, is now serving at the University Hospital of Llandough, offering patients, visitors and staff a comfortable place to eat, drink and take a break.
The restaurant replaces the former Aroma site at the front of the hospital and follows the success of the Bwyd Blasus location at the University Hospital of Wales.
Andrew Pritchard, head of retail catering, said: “This has been a long time coming and it’s great to see Bwyd Blasus now open at University Hospital of Llandough.
“Located at the front of the hospital site, the restaurant offers a wider range of food and drink options, including more healthy options.
“We’ve also listened to feedback from customers at our University Hospital of Wales restaurant and introduced a separate grab-and-go queue for people who are short on time and need to make a quick purchase.
“Bwyd Blasus is a great addition for colleagues, patients and visitors using the Llandough site.”
The menu features a selection of hot meals, snacks, barista-style coffee and options for vegetarian and plant-based diets.
The restaurant also offers a comfortable dining space.
In response to customer feedback from the University Hospital of Wales site, the Llandough location now features a dedicated grab-and-go queue. This allows those in a hurry to quickly pick up drinks, snacks and takeaway items.
Bwyd Blasus is open seven days a week from 7am to 7pm, providing a convenient dining option for early morning appointments, lunchtime visitors and evening staff.
The restaurant is designed to support the wellbeing of everyone at the hospital by offering a welcoming space and a variety of meal choices throughout the day.
