One squirrel blamed for why we miss so much each day

by David Jones

My bird feeder has fat balls, peanuts and a variety of seeds and I enjoy watching the little ones come and feed.

Another visitor that regularly comes to feed is a squirrel and he will munch at the peanuts, but he makes life hard work for himself!

I noticed something strange on the feeder and realised it was the squirrel but he was upside down trying to gnaw at the peanuts, he could have sat on the wall and pulled the feeder towards him as he did previously but this time there were peanuts in a dish especially for him, but he could not see what was in front of his eyes and there plenty of peanuts there for him to feast on.

This got me thinking about how much we miss on a daily basis, God’s creation and the blessings all around us, a flower in bud ready to open, a smile on a little one’s face, our sight, our hearing, the things we are able to do every day, so often we take them for granted.

These words are a daily blessing and remind us how precious life is, “We are all blessed again with the gift of life, thank God and let’s make something good today.

Help others who need it, think of others who are less fortunate. One small positive thought in the morning can change your day”.

We all face different situations in life, as the song reminds us “Count your blessings name them one by one, and it will surprise what the Lord has done” God has done so much for each one of us by showing His love and sending His son to die for our sins, He is a loving God, a faithful God, a forgiving God and for those that follow Him can know His joy and peace in the toughest of times.

Every day is a gift of life, God gives us the gift of salvation and life eternal when we commit our lives to Him, and that blessing is for everyone.

2 Corinthians 9:8: “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
